To better protect the contents inside, suitcases are often equipped with combination locks for security. However, for some types of combination locks, there are instances where users find themselves in a situation where they have forgotten the password.
Unlocking a suitcase is crucial for anyone who owns a suitcase for travel or business, but there are many situations that can occur during use, such as getting stuck or forgetting the password. Therefore, let Hùng Phát provide you with some ways to unlock a suitcase when it's stuck or you've forgotten the password through the following article!
1. Unlocking a Suitcase - Standard Combination Lock
- Step 1: Use a flashlight to shine into the numbers on the suitcase. Carefully insert a pin into the gaps on the number dial until the tip of the pin fully enters to find a gap in the combination lock.
- Step 2: Continue to find gaps on numbers 2 and 3. Remember these numbers. Proceed to check with all 3 gaps on the combination lock.
- Step 3: Move the units on the number dial to the numbers you observed while checking with the flashlight. After changing the units, add this unit number to 2 or 5 and try again until the suitcase is unlocked.

2. Unlocking a Suitcase When Forgetting the Password Manually
- Step 1: Gently turn the number dials and observe the gap next to the number dial. When a gap is partially stopped, stop turning and move on to the other 2 number dials.
- Step 2: After accurately determining the 3 positions from step 1, incrementally advance each unit on each number dial by 2 units and slide the unlock button. Keep doing this until the suitcase is unlocked.

3. Unlocking a Suitcase When Forgetting the Password with a New Polymer Note
It may be hard to believe, but you can use a new polymer banknote to unlock a combination lock in the following ways:
- Step 1: Choose the newest polymer banknote with good stiffness.
- Step 2: Set all 3 rows of numbers to the number 0 on the suitcase's combination lock. Carefully insert a corner of the banknote into the gap on the right side of the number dial.
- Step 3: At some point, the banknote will sink slightly compared to the other positions. Observe whether the banknote on the number dial has sunk below. If not, rotate to the next number and keep trying until you find the position where the corner of the banknote sinks below.
- Step 4: Continue to do the same for all 3 rows of numbers. When done, press the suitcase's unlock button to see if it can be opened. If not, proceed to the next step.
- Step 5: Keep the units on all 3 rows of numbers the same, and incrementally turn all 3 rows of numbers in the same direction, adding 2-3 units each time. After each attempt, try pressing the suitcase's unlock button.
